Ångtvätten
22.

A 40,000 m² commercial property in Stora Essingen. Open-plan offices with a ceiling that needed to absorb sound, without calling attention to itself.

The brief

Speech,
not noise.

The building management wanted a ceiling solution that would improve speech intelligibility across the open floor. The space was a standard suspended T-grid layout — fast to install, but acoustically untreated.

The requirement was clear: achieve Class A absorption in the 500 Hz–2 kHz range without altering the aesthetics of the ceiling. The tile had to read as a neutral surface, not as an acoustic treatment.

Aisti® was installed side-by-side with standard mineral wool tiles as a blind comparison. Installers and occupants reported no visible difference between the two products.

The result

Class A,
confirmed.

Absorption coefficients from EN ISO 354 reverberation room test. Configuration: 20 mm / tight (plate-flush). α ≥ 0.90 across speech bands qualifies as Class A.
